On the call of All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA) Punjab Chapter, APCA Multan organised a big rally to press the authorities for acceptance of their demands. The rally started followed by a protest meeting under the chairmanship of Abdul Razzaq Baloch, divisional president APCA and was joined by grade one to 16 employees of Irrigation, Building, Works, Forest, Statistics, Architect, and other departments.
Led by Asif Saleem, Abdul Qayyum, Qari Tariq, Alam Sher Awan, Shahid Kazmi, Riaz Hussain, Makhdoom Azhar, Shahid Mehmood, Rashid Butt, Nazar Muhammad Seyal, Saleem Ansari, Sajjad Baloch, Rana Nasir Ali, Abdul Razzaq Baloch, the rally started from provincial offices and ended in front of the press club.
Speakers on the occasion said that APCA has presented a 24-point charter of demands to the government. They demanded increasing their salaries by 300 percent. They also said that salary scales should be revised according to the pay and pension commission's recommendations. They alleged that some political leaders are creating hurdles in fulfilling the demands. He warned that if government does not accept their demands, they would observe strike every Monday. Moreover, APCA Central Committee meeting would be held on May 28 wherein a date may be set for holding a long march towards Islamabad.
