Osama bin Laden incident has shown just how precarious Pakistan's situation has become, if any proof was still needed apart from the bomb blasts occurring in different parts of the country, views such as these are being aired by citizens such as Syed Jawaid Iqbal, Chairman Moderates, a private sector think tank strengthening tolerance, interfaith harmony and democracy.
The incident is a wake up call for the civil and military authorities as well as the people of Pakistan, some of whom have been unable to accept that extremism is on the rise, based on their belief in various conspiracy theories. The unilateral American military action in Abbottabad and its aftermath has posed many questions regarding Pakistan's national security, sovereignty and freedom.
The authorities and Pakistanis in general should stop blaming each other as well as other nations for all their problems. If the country was united and finally took a stand to address its own problems, things would change - no matter how unlikely it seems at this point - and foreign interference could eventually be minimised.
