Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) Saturday announced the soft launch of Rahim Yar Khan Industrial Estates at a function held here on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Haji Abdul Malik Qasim, State Minister for Halal Hub and Products, Malaysia expressed his delight and willingness to collaborate in the field of promoting 'Halal' products export from Pakistan.
Chief Minister's Special Initiatives Entity Chairman, Haroon Khawaja appreciated setting up of Punjab Business Forum and said it can play an active role in accelerating industrial and trade related activities in future. The province is contributing well over 60 percent of country's GDP with the volume translating to $657 billion, while more than 48,000 small and big industrial units are operating in the province, he said.
Qasim called upon the businessmen and investors to take advantage of the facilities provided by Punjab government in the fields of livestock, coal, engineering etc. He hoped that this forum and the economic team of chief minister Punjab would work together to expedite uplift programmes for the betterment of people. In his address, Chairman PIEDMC S.M. Tanveer promised launch of more industrial estates and industry-friendly policies for these. He welcomed international investors to set up outfits in Punjab. He said that PIEDMC is now the premium industrial estates development company of the country. Its flagship project Sundar Industrial Estate in Lahore has been revitalised and now boasts world-class infrastructure, hosting a number of international companies.
