Acting Speaker National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi chaired a meeting in Parliament House to discuss the security arrangements in and around Parliament House and Parliament Lodges in wake of the present volatile security situation in the country. The Secretary National Assembly, Secretary M/O Interior, Inspector General ICT Police and other senior officers of National Assembly Secretariat, M/O Interior and ICT Police attended the meeting.
After thorough discussion and taking into account the security perceptions, the Acting Speaker directed ICT Police to adopt a zero tolerance approach and strictly implement the Standard Operation Procedure devised for the security of Parliament House and Lodges. It was decided that no visitor or personal staff of Ministers/ Parliamentarians would be allowed in the premises of the Parliament House without valid card issued by the National Assembly and Senate Secretariats.-PR
