Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Wajid Ali Khan Durrani opened the 'Fun and Joy Spring Festival' at Lake View Park to attract visitors at beautiful stalls and eye-catching programmes especially, arranged for children. Puppet shows have been arranged for the children while various kinds of swings have been also placed in the park.
Entry in this festival will be free of cost and more than 40 stalls of edible items, jewellery, clothes and others have been arranged there to attract the visitors.The IGP Islamabad appreciated the holding of such festival and said people have good opportunity to spend their free hours in good atmosphere along with their kids.
He said that life style in big cities is changing and every person is busy in his affairs. The organisers of the festival have taken a good step and installed attractive stalls and healthy activities here, the IGP said and urged the organisers to provide best services to the visitors. The organizer of the festival Azaz Malik said that people from remote areas have come here to place their stalls and introducing their products at comparatively cheaper rates. He said that the purpose of holding festival at this attractive picnic spot is to provide the citizens an opportunity to spend their timings in a relaxed atmosphere. The festival will remain continue till May 26.
