A delegation of 24 participants of 9th Senior Management Course organised for senior civil servants from various groups visited University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) on Thursday. The delegation met Vice-Chancellor UVAS Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz and thanked him for giving opportunity to understand the functioning of university in the field of life sciences and extension services to train the human resource.
Earlier, UVAS Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz briefed about the chronicle of veterinary school to university status adding that the university has been operating in Lahore for 129 years excellence towards veterinary education. The UVAS is playing its effective role in the leather, poultry, meat and dairy technology, he added.
Professor Nawaz said the university had developed research collaboration and signed 21 MoUs with many international institutions to upgrade the standard of education" he explained. He said the varsity was making untiring efforts to provide quality education. Commenting on Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Nawaz said that the vibrant role of livestock sector, which was contributing approximately 53.2 percent of the agriculture value-added and 11.4 percent to national GDP.
