Accountant General Punjab, Muhammad Jamil Bhatti, has directed Drawing & Disbursing Officers (DDOs) of all provincial departments to correct the basic data of employees working under their administrative control and submit the same to AG Office and concerned District Accounts Offices by May 12.
The payment of salaries, in case of employees continuing in the system with incorrect data, will be stopped and cases of such employees will be sent to their respective administrative departments for disciplinary action against them, reiterated AG Punjab.
In a circular to the Punjab Finance Department, all District Accounts Offices and DDOs of all provincial departments, Accountant General Punjab has mentioned that decision to correct the basic data of employees ie CNIC number, Date of Birth and Date of Entry into government service was made in a meeting of Pension Administrative Task Force of Punjab Government.
The AG Office continued to pay salaries to the government employees without any delay even in case of incorrect data till date. The concerned department and AG office as well as the government employee has to face problems at the time of his retirement, pension payment, salary payment, compilation of service record and payment of GP Fund if the data of the concerned employee remains incomplete or incorrect in the computerised system (PIFRA), functioning in AG Office, AG Punjab said.
Accountant General Punjab has directed the DDOs to collect payrolls/pay slips of the active government employees from AG office by May 05 and submit them after correction with red ink to the AG office by May 12, 2011, failing to which the employees having incomplete or incorrect data would not be able to get their salaries with effect from next month. Such employees will also have to face disciplinary action, as AG Office will report cases of such employees to their respective administrative departments. It is in the best interest of all such government servants whose data is still incorrect/incomplete on the system, to get it corrected immediately, concluded AG Punjab.
