Some parts of the city on Saturday remained closed on the strike call given by the Sindh-nationalist parties over irregularities in house census 2011. All commercial activities at the dominant areas of Jiye Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM), Sindh National Party (SNP), Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party (STP) and others remained suspended during strike.
The inhabitants of Bin Qasim town, Gaddap town, Bilawal Goth, Khoi Goth staged demonstration against house census 2011. They burnt tyres on roads and pelted stones at national highway and super highway to block vehicles' movement. The strike was witnessed at several parts of Safora Goth, Pehalwan Goth, Gulistan-e-Jauhar where public transport remained thin, which created problems for commuters. Some two buses and a truck were set ablaze by unknown miscreants at Bilal Colony Korangi Industrial Area, Zaman town Noorani Basti and Steel town Mor, respectively.
