Power shortfall has been lurking around 4,000MW during last 24 hours with improvement in weather and fuel supply to thermal units. According to Pepco sources, power generation remained 12,229MW against a demand of 16,120MW, leaving the system with a shortfall of 3,891MW in total. Power generation through hydel, thermal, IPPs and RPPs was recorded at 4,005MW, 1,745MW, 6,417MW and 62MW respectively. Supply to KESC remained 730MW.
The power consumers, particularly the industrial one, remained uncertain about the supply to their units and many of them preferred to put their operations off while permitting the labour to go back to their respective areas for wheat harvesting. Similarly, domestic consumers presented offending views on Nepra's approval for increase in power tariff. They said the anti-people policies of the government are making the life of common man miserable. They also cursed the opposition parties and media for not taking up the issues of common man.
