A three-day Seerat books exhibition, being organised by Regional Da'wah Centre, will start today (Friday) at Liaqat National Library. Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Dr Syed Aziz-ur-Rehman, head of Regional Da'wah Centre, said that for the first time such type of exhibition was being organised in Pakistan which would continue till May 1, 2011.
As many as 1500 books on the life of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) will be on display in the exhibition. Moulana Dr Sajid-ur-Rehman Siddique of Dar-ul-Aloom Korangi will inaugurate the exhibition. He said that besides the exhibition a two-day seminar on Seerat was also being organised.
Dr Sahibzada Sajid-ur-Rehman, Director General Da'wah Academy, International Islamic University, Islamabad, Moulana Dr Sajid-ur-Rehman Siddique, Dr Hafiz Ehsan-ul-Haq, head of Arabic Department Karachi University, Dr Noor Ahmed, Director Shaikh Zaid Islamic Centre Karachi and Dr Mehmood Ghaznavey of Mass communication, Karachi University will deliver speeches during the seminar. He said that the books, which will be on display in the exhibition, have been collected from Pakistan and India and all are in Urdu language. However, he said, that books were not for sale. Several libraries across the country have provide books on Seerat for display in the exhibitions.
