PTA against two holidays a week

Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) South Zone Chairman Aziz Ahmed on Tuesday strongly opposed the idea of two holidays a week for energy conservation. In a statement, he said that Pakistan's economy which is already in its lowest ebb and many sectors are facing sheer crisis, the decision to observe two days off in a week may result in total collapse of industrial sector especially the exports would have to suffer most.
Aziz said the decision last year proved to be failure and the government could not conserve energy but on the other hand it severely hurt exports and the industry. "This decision would only multiply problems and hamper business and industrial activities and the government would not be able to achieve any desired result except further hurting the country's economy," PTA chief warned. He urged the government not to implement the proposal and take appropriate measures in consultation with the business community to address the energy crisis.-PR
