Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry President Senator Haji Ghulam Ali has appointed Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig as Chairman PAK-UAE Business Council of FPCCI. The other directors on the board elected unopposed from Dr Baig's panel are: Khalid Tawab, Mirza Ishtiaq Baig, Mohammad Asad Fecto, Tahir H Schon, Nasir H Schon, Syed Farukh Mazhar, Arshad Riaz Fazail and Saeed-ur-Rehman.
Dr Baig and his panel was elected unopposed with overwhelming majority in a recent election of the council held on April 20, 2011 at FPCCI. Dr Baig has business interest in UAE for the last 25 years and led PAK-UAE Business Council's high profile 30-member businessmen delegation to UAE.
He met UAE Minister of Foreign Trade H E Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid bin Sultan Al Qasimi and Minister of Higher Education & Research Science H H Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan. Dr Baig said all newly elected directors have active business interest with UAE and Pakistan and will work hard to enhance bilateral trade and investment between Pakistan and UAE.
