The government will provide soft loans for revival of those industries that have been affected during the 2010 floods. Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said while replying to supplementary questions to the members in the National Assembly on Monday that the government is in negotiations with the owners of the industries for soft loan.
She said that a total of 146 units were damaged/ destroyed during the flood 2010. She said that most of industries of Nowshara in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been affected. She said that according Damage Need Assessment US $1.392 million were required for their rehabilitation. She said that in Nowshara most of the industries including cement, marble, silk, milk, flour mills and others have been affected. She said that a mechanism is being evolved in negotiations with industries' owners for soft loan. She said that the concerned agencies/ provinces have been asked to provide necessary assistance to make the units functional.
