Lahore Township Industries Association (LTIA) has constituted two committees to deal with announced and unannounced load-shedding. The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting chaired by LTIA Chairman, Haroon Shafiq Chaudhry and was attended by a large number of industrialists of the area Mian Anjum Nisar and number of former LTIA chairmen were also present on the occasion.
Participants of the meeting decided to put off strike call given for April 26th (today), as there was no unscheduled load-shedding on April 25th. One of the committees formed by LTIA would be contacting Pakistan Electric Power Company (Pepco) authorities and Federal Minister for Water and Power while the other would finalise protest plan in consultation with the industrial areas of Punjab.
Speaking on the occasion, Anjum Nisar said it is very unfortunate that both the federal and provincial governments have failed to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity and spending all their energies for saving their governments.
He said that the business community is very disturbed over the situation and wants the Prime Minister to take corrective measures so that the industrial wheel could be put into running again.
