Completion of on-going development schemes: Sindh government releases Rs 100 million
The Sindh Minister for Fisheries Zahid Ali Bhurgri has said that Sindh Government has released Rs 100 million for completion of on-going development schemes of rehabilitation and improvement of sewerage and roads of taluka Qasimabad Hyderabad under Qasimabad package. This he said while holding a press conference at PS-47 PPP office near Marvi Garden Qasimabad today.
Briefing the media men, the Minister for Fisheries said that till today Sindh Government has released total of Rs 248 million for the development of Qasimabad. He said that Planning and Development Department of Sindh has also approved another scheme of Rs 40 crore for disposal of sewerage system and treatment of sewerage water and improvement of pumping stations of taluka Qasimabad.
Zahid Ali Bhurgri said that after receiving Rs 100 million, the development work has been started on war footing basis. He assured that road from Naseem Nagar to Alamdar Chowk and Bhittai Nagar would be completed before June 2011. He said that in spite of being financially stickup and busy in the rehabilitation of flood affected people the Sindh Government has released Rs 100 million for the development of Qasimabad. He said that a meeting has been convened on April 29, 2011 in which the decision about underpass or construction of overhead bridge at Naseem Nagar Chowk would be taken with the consultation of all stakeholders.
He stated that Federal Government has released Rs 15 crore for the completion of this scheme, besides Sindh government has already completed 2 development schemes while work on 7 schemes was in progress. He also said that 50 additional teachers have been assigned for Census 2011 to get it completed within a stipulated period.
Zahid further said that it was also in the knowledge of nationalist style leaders that PPP has solved the problems of the people and advised them to come forward and give suggestions, if any and assured that we will welcome their suggestions. On the occasion, the Project Director HDP Altaf Memon gave the detail of development schemes of Qasimabad taluka.
Later, on the consultant Shafi Muhammad Lakho informed the Minister for Fisheries Zahid Ali Bhurgri and PD HDP that Master Plan 2035 for Qasimabad taluka has been prepared with the growth rate of 7.8 percent annum. He said that at present 4.5 lac people are residing in Qasimabad and hoped that population of Qasimabad would increase by 18 lac in 2035. He said that he has planned a BLIS technique technology of sewerage system for Qasimabad, which never fails and work on gravity force and needs very low cost expenses. He informed that this system was working successfully in the world and was easy to handle. He said that due to this system only two pumping stations are required to discharge sewerage water from Qasimabad to River Indus.
