Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar will pay an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 24-25 April "to strengthen the existing bonds of friendship and brotherhood", Foreign Office said on Saturday. Ms Khar will hold meetings with her counterpart and the leadership of Saudi Arabia.
"The visit will provide a useful opportunity to comprehensively review the status of bilateral relations and exchange views on the situation in the region," the Foreign Office statement said. The statement mentioned that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoyed historically close brotherly relations based on common values, faith, traditions, commonality of interests and aspirations of the peoples.
The people of Pakistan hold the leadership of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in high esteem. Last year Saudi Arabia was among the first countries to rush relief consignments to the flood affected areas, the statement said. The strong presence of 1.5 million Pakistani expatriates in Saudi Arabia is making valuable contribution towards the development and prosperity of the Kingdom and serving as a bridge of friendship between the two fraternal countries.
