Karachi Port's activities

The Karachi Port handled 137,031 tonnes of cargo including 91,832 tonnes of import cargo, 45,199 tonnes of export cargo and 5,510 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 91,832 tonnes comprised of 45,193 tonnes of containerised cargo; 12,669 tonnes of coal and 33,970 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 45,199 tonnes comprised of 35,180 tonnes of containerised cargo; 642 tonnes of general cargo; 9,377 tonnes of bulk cargo: 1,950 tonnes of wheat; 3,282 tonnes of cement; 3,324 tonnes of loose bulk cement and 821 tonnes of sand.
Five ships namely Hanjin Rome, American Tern, Ginga Falcon, EMA Querida and TS Tokyo with two container ships, two oil tankers and container ship sailed out to sea during the reported period. Seven vessels viz EMA Querida, OOCL Charleston, MT Karachi, Bow Puma, Cardonia, Chem Hydra and APL Chicago carrying oil tanker, container ship, two oil tankers, container ship, oil tanker and container ship respectively are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Arikun, Cardonia and CSL Ride with sand carrier and two container ships respectively expected to sail on Saturday, while eight ships namely OEL Trust, OOCL Charleston, Bow Puma, Hopeful, APL Chicago, MT Karachi, Chem Hydra and Fatima-1 carrying two container ships, palm oil tanker, general cargo carrier, container ship, crude oil tanker, base oil carrier and cement carrier respectively are expected to sail on Sunday.
Four vessels viz MY Antarctic, Al-Mirqab, MOL Success and Liberty Pride with chemicals carrier, two container ships and vehicles carrier respectively due to arrive on Saturday, while seven vessels viz AL-Saada, Omera Queen, Violetta, Ital Onore, Abtin-1, APL Zircon and Samanta with base oil carrier, crude oil tanker, four container ships and coal carrier respectively are due to arrive on Sunday.
