The first international conference on "Promotion of Social Science Research in Pakistani Universities: Prospects and Challenges" is being held under the auspices of the Committee for Development of Social Sciences and Humanities in Pakistan, Higher Education Commission (HEC) from Monday.
Dr Javaid R. Laghari, Chairperson HEC will be the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony to be held at HEC secretariat. Dr Muhammad Nizamuddin, Vice-Chancellor, University of Gujrat and Chairman, Conference Organising Committee will present an overview of the conference. Professor Rehman Subhan, Chairman, Centre for Policy Dialogue, Bangladesh will deliver keynote address on the occasion.
Participants of the conference include experts in the field of social sciences from both home and abroad. Besides, young faculty of social sciences and indigenous PhD scholars will be making poster presentations based on research on the occasion.
