Chairman, Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO), BOD Nadeem Aftab Sindhu has said energy is engine of economic growth and people must save energy for the industrial sector. He was addressing a painting competition and seminar on Save Energy at Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Auditorium, here on Saturday.
Sindhu said that FESCO has launched save energy campaign to educate people about saving electricity. The students could also play their role in discouraging wasteful use of electricity. He said that they were trying to teach younger generation that their habits to switch off unnecessary lights would yield positive results. He also asked the 400 students present in the Hall to give oath that they would play take part in save energy campaign.
Sindhu said that Allah Almighty has blessed Pakistan with unlimited resources of coal, water and solar energy but the previous governments failed to exploit these resources for the development and prosperity of the country. Energy crisis occurred due to the improper planning, he said adding that nation must unite to overcome present shortage of electricity.
