Country cannot afford politics of dead lines: Wattoo

OKARA: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Gilgit and Baltistan Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo has said that the country could not afford politics of dead lines and long marches.

It is the time for national unity and solidarity to counter challenges faced by the country on different fronts, he said while addressing public meetings at Wasawaywala and Depalpure and later talking to the media.

MNA Mian Khurram Jehangir Wattoo and MPA Robina Shaheen Wattoo also spoke on the occasion.

Manzoor Wattoo said that the government was committed to serve the masses despite all odds. The elements engaged in conspiracies would not succeed in their nefarious designs, he added.

While highlighting success of operations in Swat and other parts of the country, Wattoo said that the government would continue struggle till completely elimination of terrorists from the society.

The minister urged the countrymen to follow teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in letter and spirit and collectively work to make Pakistan a true Islamic welfare state.

He also stressed upon the need of resolving Kashmir issue through meaningful and result oriented dialogues between India and Pakistan and to give right of plebiscite to the people of Kashmir as per UN resolutions.

Later the minister also visited Rukanpur residence of Fayyaz a young man killed due to police torture and condoled with the family of the victim.

Talking to Sughran Bib mother of Fayyaz, the minister said that the torture culprits would be awarded punishment.
