Abbas, Netanyahu invited to Moscow

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are to attend separate talks with the Russian President in Moscow next week, Russian news agencies reported on Friday. Abbas is to meet President Dmitry Medvedev on March 22, while Netanyahu is to meet with him on March 24.
The leaders were to discuss possible solutions to the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians, diplomats from both sides in Moscow confirmed. No mention was made of a meeting between Netanyahu and Abbas. Direct talks between the two sides were broken off in September after just a month when Israel rejected calls to extend a partial 10- month freeze on construction at its West Bank settlements.
