An application was moved in Supreme Court on Wednesday to initiate contempt of court proceedings against secretary law for attempting to reverse the apex court short order in appointment of NAB chairman Syed Deedar Hussain Shah.
A three-member of the apex court on March 10 had declared appointment of Syed Deedar Hussain Shah as chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) as illegal and ultra vires of the constitution with directives to relinquish charge of his office immediately.
Shahid Orakzai, a petitioner, filed contempt petition under Article 204 as registrar SC office had returned his application with objection on Tuesday. The registrar has mentioned that the court has passed judgement and now the appellant could file only review petition on it.
He prayed the court to initiate contempt proceedings against the federal law secretary and take appropriate steps to enforce the short order, adding the petition be placed before the bench that has passed the verdict. The petitioner said that the reappointment by the federation of any person who has been removed from any office under the constitution or under any law totally negates the constitutional authority of Supreme Court. He said that the action of the federation amounts to disobeying the order of the Court in terms in sub-clause (A) of Article 204.
