Total open interest at futures counter increased by 1.4 percent

The open interest at the futures counter increased by 1.4 percent to Rs 1.4 billion during the week ended March 11, 2011. The futures spreads, however declined by 532bps on week-on-week basis to 6.1 percent.
Trading at the futures counter was low during the week as the average daily volumes declined by 61 percent on week-on-week basis to 2.9 million shares.
The top-5 scrips at the futures counter constituting 66 percent of the total open interest were POL, LUCK, ENGRO, DGKC and MCB. ENDS.
