Islamabad police bust a gang of dacoits: four held, stolen car, weapons recovered

Islamabad Police have busted a gang of dacoits including Afghan nationals and recovered a stolen car and illegal weapons from their possession. Sihala Police has arrested four dacoits of a gang including two Afghan nationals during raid at their hide-out in the suburban area of the Capital City and recovered a stolen car, four pistols and ammunition from their possession, said a spokesman of Islamabad Police here on Saturday.
Responding to a tip off, Superintendent of Police (SP) Rural Umer Hayat constituted a special team led by DSP Sardar Babar Mumtaz and SHO Sihala Inspector Bashir to immediately arrest the dacoits planning to commit dacoity at some place in Islamabad, the spokesman said.
He said that the team raided a place near `Japan road' in the jurisdiction of Sihala Police Station and nabbed four persons and recovered four pistols and a car (IDM-415). The detained bandits were identified as Imran resident of Peshawar, Gul Rehman resident of Afghanistan, Rooh Ullah resident of Afghanistan and Zar Muhammad resident of Battagram, he said, adding that during the preliminary investigation the detained outlaws informed the Police that the car recovered from them was stolen from industrial area.
They have also confessed to be involved in various incidents of theft in various areas of twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, he said. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Wajid Ali Durrani has appreciated the performance of those police officials who arrested these dacoits including two Afghan nationals and directed to use all available resources to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens. He said that it is the prime responsibility of police to ensure safety and serve citizens and those accomplishing this task in a responsible manner will be encouraged.
