The Karachi Port handled 85,625 tonnes of cargo including 41,325 tonnes of import cargo, 44,300 tonnes of export cargo and 4,142 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 41,325 tonnes comprised of 37,031 tonnes of containerised cargo and 3,106 tonnes of general cargo and 1,188 tonnes of rock phosphate.
The total export cargo of 44,300 tonnes comprised of 29,081 tonnes of containerised cargo; 63 tonnes of general cargo; 11,156 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,758 tonnes of cement; 8,398 tonnes of wheat and 4,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Three ships namely Stolt Courage, Bow Fuji and Royal Diamond with two oil tankers and wheat respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Four vessels viz Saigon Express, Bux Melody, Hanjin Rome and President Adams carrying four container ships are currently at the berths. Three container ships namely Hanjin Rome, Bux Melody and Saigon Express expected to sail on Thursday, while another ship namely Ocean Success with general cargo is expected to sail on Friday.
One vessels viz Sea Tiger-1 carrying sulphur due to arrive on Thursday, while eight vessels viz Royal Aqua, Ts Tokyo, Salis, Mitra Bhum, Cardonia, APL Guangzhou, Ocean Friend and Laconia with vegetable oil, five container ships, coal and canola seeds respectively are due to arrive on Friday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 116,917 tonnes of cargo includes 91,616 tonnes of import cargo and 25,291 tonnes of export cargo and 2,836 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours. The total import cargo of 91,616 tonnes includes 40,100 tonnes of furnace oil; 4,751 tonnes of chemicals; 8,970 tonnes of urea; 14,785 tonnes of coal and 22,920 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 25,291 tonnes includes 9,595 tonnes of wheat and 15,696 tonnes of containerised cargo. Two container ships namely CV ACX Margueritor and CV MSC Jade sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while three more ships namely CV CMA CGM Wegnor, MT Mire and MT Golden Ambrosia are expected to sail on the same day.
A total number of eleven vessels viz CV ACX Margueritor, CV MSC Jade, CV CMA CGM Wegnor, MV Free Envoy, MV Ina Lotte, MV Aquila Voyager, MV Alfa Nourios, MV Golden Ambrosia, MV Iolcos Vision, MT Marilena and MT Mire-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, urea, chemicals, coal, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Five ships namely Four Bay, Sound Future, Hina Golden, Bunger Aster and OOCL Kobe carrying furnace oil, rice, iron ore, palm oil and containers respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of two vessels viz CV OOCL Kobe and MT Bunger Aster carrying containers and edible oil respectively are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Thursday. A container ship namely CV CSAV Apenne due to arrive on Thursday, while three more ships namely CV Safe Marine Cunene, CV MSC Anafi and MV Sapphire are due to arrive on Friday.
