President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Muhammad Saeed Shafiq and Vice President Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkey (TUSKON) Ahmed Cigar, signed Memorandum of Understanding/Agreement of Co-operation at Istanbul for promotion of trade between Pakistan and Turkey.
The agreement was signed during the visit of KCCI's business delegation to Istanbul. Junaid Yousaf, Consul General, Consulate General of Pakistan in Istanbul was also present on the occasion. President KCCI gave a detailed presentation about the Chamber, and the role it has played for the promotion of trade and industry in Pakistan. Saeed Shafiq also extended an invitation to TUSKON members for participation in 'My-Karachi, Oasis of Harmony Exhibition'.
Yousaf Junaid articulated that safeguard measures and enhanced customs tariffs lines will have harsh effects on Pak Textile Exports to Turkey. He stated that it is Pakistan not China whose exports would suffer ultimately. Ahmed Cigar informed that Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkey (TUSKON) was operating as the top organisation of associations of businessmen that were serving to make contributions for economic and social development of his country.
A comprehensive Business-to-Business meeting session was held between KCCI members and the members of TUSKON. The KCCI delegation included, Shamim Ahmed Firpo, Chaudhry Ansar Javed, Shaikh Muhammad Tehseen, Muhammad Arif, Masood Yahya, and Khadim Rasool.
