Islamabad Police have submitted challans of 830 cases into courts after completing investigation during the first two months of the current year and a total of 30 fake cases were also dislodged and legal action under section 182 PPC is underway against those involved in bogus litigation.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Wajid Ali Durrani had directed all Superintendents of Police (SPs) to look into all under investigation cases and ensure immediate steps to submit their challans into courts after completing the transparent investigation, said Naeem Iqbal Spokesman of Islamabad Police here on Tuesday.
He said that SSP Islamabad, Tahir Alam Khan while reviewed the performance of the last months told that challans of 830 cases were submitted after complete probe into them while rectification was made into 38 objectionable cases and their challans were resubmitted into courts. A total of 30 fake cases were also dislodged from various police stations of the city and legal action against fake litigants is also underway, he said.
The SSP has also directed all SPs, DSPs and Station House Officers of 14 police stations to devise an effective strategy to arrest thieves and bust gangs involved in dacoities and crimes of heinous nature. He said that all registered cases should be investigated on merit and complainants should be satisfied as per law.
He had issued directives to all police officials working with investigation wing and police stations to complete the probe into under-investigation cases at the earliest in a transparent manner and submit their challans into courts to ensure relief to the people.
Tahir Alam Khan has also directed to ensure arrest of proclaimed offenders, court absconders at the earliest and ensure strict vigilance and checking at the entry and exit points to avoid any untoward incident. The SSP also warned that those police officials having poor performance in curbing criminal activities would have to face disciplinary action. He said that it is the prime responsibility of police to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens and any officer involved in dereliction of duties would not be spared.
He also directed all the SHOs to launch aggressive campaign against the beggars and send the professional behind the bars as per law. The SSP also asked to intensify patrolling in their respective areas and make elaborate security arrangements around sensitive locations and important buildings to thwart any mishap.
