PaCCS closure: Intervention sought

Chairman, Pakistan Chemicals and Dyes Merchant Association (PCDMA), Haroon Agar has sought the intervention of chairman federal board of revenue (FBR) and asked him not to close down Pakistan Automated Customs Computerised System (PaCCS). He suggested that a committee should be formed to prepare recommendation for removing lacunas in the system and make it compatible with present day's requirements.
He said that the closure of PaCCS will lead to delay in clearance of goods and as a result stating extra cost. He said under PaCCS imported goods took around two to three days in clearance. After closure of system goods will be cleared manually will take weeks for clearing goods.-PR
