Secretary General Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-e-Azam) and Chairman Pak-China Institute, Mushahid Hussain Syed on Monday said that every Pakistani is proud of friendship with China, Pakistan's closest friend. He said that economic zone in Kashgar, which is the energy corridor to China and a rail transportation link from Havalian to China, would be completed in next few years and help people of both the countries.
He stated this while speaking at a reception given by Muhammad Raza Khan, Chairman Co-ordination, FPCCI Capital Office, in the honour of an 11-member visiting Chinese delegation headed by Deputy Governor, Xinjiang Xiaokaiti Yiming.
Mushahid demanded establishment of a taskforce to implement the decisions taken during the highly successful visit of Chinese Premier, Wen Jiabao. He noted that the agreements worth $36 billion, if implemented properly, will turnaround the ailing economy of the country. Minister for Inter-Provincial Co-ordination Balochistan, Dr Ruquiya Saeed Hashmi said bilateral relations are not confined to the two governments. There is no doubt in the hearts and minds of any Pakistani that China is our most trusted ally.
Expressing his views, Raza Khan said that every Pakistani is an ambassador of China and business community will continue to play a constructive role in cementing ties with the rising economic power. He urged the business community to introduce their products in the bordering Xinjiang to create a balance in the trade. Speaking on the occasion, Xinjiang Xiaokaiti Yiming said that he is delighted to visit this brotherly country and stressed the need for enhanced economical, religious and cultural relations. "I hope that our visit will help bring the brotherly countries together," he said.-PR
