Federal Minister for Privatisation, and Water and Power Syed Naveed Qamar has said various projects were underway to make Tando Muhammad Khan a modern and developed city.
Addressing the inauguration ceremonies of gas supply schemes and road networks at different places in TM Khan on Sunday, the federal minister said that health and education reforms were the government's topmost priority besides the infrastructure development.
The minister inaugurated a total of 5 schemes including supply of gas to villages Dhandhi, Haji Nathalo Jamari and Haji Allah Dino Solangi at the cost of Rs2.98 million, a Rs7.5 million Abadgar Link Road in Bulri Shah Kareem and a 1.6 Kms long road in Chakar Khan village built at the cost of Rs1.1 million.
Addressing a ceremony at Allah Dino Solangi village, Naveed said the government would further expand the Peoples Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI) for furtherance in the health care programmes in TM Khan. About education he informed that an elaborate reform plan was being prepared as to produce bright students from the district's educational institutions who were able to find employment on merit in any corner of the country.
The minister mentioned that the country was facing internal and external threats, which were claiming a good deal of the government's energy and expenditures.
However, he added, with the steadfast support of the country's people, their elected government of PPP would defeat extremism and terrorism. Naveed recalled that restoration of democracy in Pakistan was achieved after the incessant struggle of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, who sacrificed her life but did not bow before the oppressors.
He maintained that hatching plots against the democratic governments was an old habit of conspirators who had, although, been weakened by persistent endeavours of true representatives of the people. The minister said the PPP government would never budge from its politics of reconciliation and in doing so would take along all the political stakeholders for entrenchment of democracy in the country.
People get freedom in democracy while in autocratic dispensations they were at the mercy of despots, he added. Navid asserted that despite numerous challenges and opposition to its rule, the government of PPP would complete its tenure of 5 years and, subsequently, would emerge again as the largest political party after the next general elections.
