Under the supervision of Professor Dr Nasreen Aslam Shah, Director Centre of Excellence for Women's Studies, University of Karachi, one day seminar will be conducted to celebrate International Women's Day on Tuesday 8th March 2011 from 10:30 am to 4:30 pm at Arts auditorium, University of Karachi.
The title of the seminar is "Karachi Kay Nu Umar Mehnatkash Bachchey Aur Bachchiyan: Ek Jaiza". This seminar will highlight the work and experiences of child labour in Karachi. On this occasion we are launching with the collaboration of Anjuman-e-Taraqqi-e-Niswan three publications:
-- Directory of the Alumni of the Department of Social Work and the Centre of Excellence for Women's Studies, University of Karachi.
-- Bridging the Gaps: Research at the Centre of Excellence for Women's Studies, University of Karachi.
-- Karachi Kay Nu Umar Mehnatkash Bachchey Aur Bachchiyan: Ek Jaiza.
Syed Mustafa Kamal, Ex. City Nazim, City District Government Karachi, will be the chief guest. Nargis N D Khan, Minister Social Welfare Department, Government of Sindh will be guest of honour. The vice-chancellor, University of Karachi, Professor Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui will preside the session. Selected research papers will also be presented in the seminar.-PR
