An alleged terrorist was killed and two other injured in a blast that occurred in the limits of Ibrahim Hyderi police station on Saturday. According to details, the bomb went off inside a house located at unprivileged area of Korangi sector 50-C where the activists of Jiye Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM) were allegedly preparing the bomb for terrorist attacks. The explosion badly damaged the house and other houses of the neighbourhood.
Resultantly, an alleged terrorist, who was identified as Zulfiqar Kolachi 32 was killed while two other namely Ismail son of Abu Bakar and Sadruddin son of Allah Dino injured, who were later arrested by the law enforcement agencies at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
The law enforcers, who rushed to the spot after blast, have also arrested two more suspects namely Faisal Ahmad and Mobin and shifted them to an unknown place for interrogation. Inspector General Sindh Police Fayyaz Laghari said the explosive, which was being wrapped in a paper, caught fire as one of the alleged militants light cigarette during the said exercise.
SP Abdul Majeed Rind said the bomb went off when the militants tried to wrap the explosive in a paper and added that the police have also collected several leaflets of JSMM which indicated the link of the terrorists with Shafi Burfat group of Sindh Liberation Army.
When contacted, SP CID Mazhar Mashwani said that the alleged terrorists had been staying in this house for the last three months and added they also revealed during initial course of investigation that they were preparing a bomb to target railway tracks. He further said that the alleged terrorists, who hailed from Ghotki, were not only responsible for all attacks on railway tracks but also for Shah Latif Town blast.
Meanwhile, the officials of Bomb Disposal Squad claimed that similar explosive material, which were used in all attacks on railway tracks, was found from the blast site and added that some 2 kg of explosive material was used in this blast. Following the blast, heavy contingents of law enforcers cordoned off the area and initiated selective search at Bin Qasim Town to root out other criminal elements.
