Workers burn boss alive in eastern India

Indian police arrested four men on Friday suspected of being part of a mob of protesting workers who burned alive a steel factory manager in the country's east. About 30 men were believed to have poured petrol over the car of the deputy general manager of the GKW-owned plant, Radheshyam Ray, before setting it on fire around lunchtime on Thursday.
GKW had recently announced lay-offs at the plant in the eastern state of Orissa, and 59-year-old Ray was held partly responsible for the decision, local policeman Ajay Kumar Sarangi told AFP by telephone. GKW is a mid-sized steel group with an annual turnover of $14 million.
