The Pakistan Meteorological Department Lahore has on Wednesday forecast more widespread rain/snow with isolated heavy showers in next 24 hours in the country. According to the Met Office, Tuesday's western disturbance is still present over upper and central parts of the country and likely to persist during next two to three days.
Hence, Widespread rain/snow with isolated heavy showers expected in Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan & Kashmir; isolated showers also likely in parts of Sindh. The ongoing winter rains will continue in different parts of the country during next 36-48 hours.
Meanwhile, scattered rain/thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills occurred over Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Punjab, Kashmir and at isolated places of Sindh. Among the cities that received downpour included Quetta 33mm, Muzaffarabad and Murree 23 mm (each), Islamabad 19.1mm, Peshawar 6.2mm, Lahore 5.2mm, Faisalabad and Multan 3.1mm (each), and Karachi trace.
