Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain has condemned assassination of Federal Minister for Minorities Affairs Shahbaz Bhatti and has termed it as a despicable act. He said that the murder of Shahbaz Bhatti should be a point to ponder for the peace loving people believe in the principles of religious tolerance and interfaith harmony, said a statement issued by MQM here on Wednesday.
He said that he had long relations with Shahbaz Bhatti, who he said was actively working for the welfare of Christians in the country. The deceased organised several programmes of the people belonging to Christian community in several cities of the country and was working for the rights of minorities in the country.
He said that the terrorists carrying out such activities were enemies of the state and their only aim was to create chaos and anarchy in the country. Sympathising with the grief-stricken family of the deceased, he has called for immediate arrest of the culprits.
