Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) have agreed on not to table the bill in Sindh Assembly for reinstatement of contract employees of the Sindh Education Department, Senior Minister for Education, Pir Mazhar-ul-Haq informed PPI in an interview.
MQM and PPP had passed a unanimous resolution in Sindh Assembly on Friday, recommending the Sindh Government for regularising the jobs of 7,187 low-grade employees, instead of tabling the bill, as earlier announced by MQM. The Provincial Education and Literacy department has not expanded contracts of 7,187 low-grade employees who were appointed on contract basis by the previous government. These employees started protest in front of Press Club Karachi, and many of them arrested on Friday.
