At least three persons were killed, including an activist of PML-N and five other injured in separate incidents, here on Wednesday. According the police, an activist of the PML-N was gunned down on late Tuesday in Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station precincts. They said the victim Yousuf Baloch, 28, was targeted by two unknown assailants when he was going in his car near Rab Medical Centre, Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
The deceased, who received a single shot on his chest, was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. Later, he was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. Yousuf was a worker of PML-N and a resident of Safora Goth. In another incident, a young man was shot dead while his brother sustained bullet wounds within the limits of Azizabad police station.
Police said that unidentified armed men called Noman Abbasi from his house and when he came with his elder brother Jahanzaib they opened fire on them after exchanging hot words. Resultantly Noman and his brother sustained bullet wounds and rushed to Liaquat National Hospital (LNH) where Noman succumbed to his injuries. No case was registered till filing of this report.
Meanwhile, a young man was killed and five other injured at Super Highway Afghan Camp in the limits of Gulshan Maymar police station. The incident took place near Afghan Camp when cattle farm employees were travelling in Suzuki pick-up suddenly a stray bullet hit the right shoulder of driver Imran, 23, son of Furqan.
Resultantly the said vehicle overturned and Imran died on the spot while Shahid, Ghulam Qadir, Abid, Amir, Waseem and Raheel sustained injures. Police shifted them to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico legal formalities and treatment. Police said the victim, who was the resident of Bhans Colony, was a driver by his profession. Police initiated further investigation in this regard.
