'Around 40 million people benefiting from BISP'

Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Farzana Raja said on Monday that 30 to 40 million people are getting benefit from the programme. While talking to PTV she said, "BISP has started poverty survey across the country to collect data about the deserving people. The main purpose of survey was to provide relief to the masses through the programme."
She said the survey would be completed till June 30, adding that BISP was providing Rs 1,000 per month to each deserving family to enhance its income.
