Chinese scholar visits SU: 'universities should play role for betterment of society'

Professor Wang Guo Andrew from China has said that varsities are to play a key role towards the betterment of society and development of youth. Professor Wang, who is on a two-week academic visit to University of Sindh, expressed these views at a farewell dinner hosted at the varsity on Saturday evening.
He expressed gratitude to Sindh University Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Nazir A. Mughal for inviting him and the hospitality offered, adding that the love and affection received from the faculty members and students will be a great remembrance for him. Professor Andrew, a scholar on international trade, also said that he visited almost all sections of the SU, delivered lectures and met with the faculty and students, adding that he also learned from young scholars.
The scholar said that scholars and students are ambassadors of their countries for bridging the gap between countries. He noted that Sindh University, oldest varsity of Pakistan, has been playing its role to ensure closer relations between the two great friends, Pakistan and China. He thanked Area Study Centre Far East and Southeast Asia and hoped that cordial academic relations between the University of Sindh and Zhejiang Gongshan University China will continue.
