Provincial Minister for Finance and Planning & Development Tanvir Ashraf Kaira has said that terrorism and extremism is menace for the society and there is a need for promoting tolerance and restraint for the progress and development of the country. He was talking to various delegations at his residence here on Sunday.
He said that wave of terrorism hit Pakistan in the tenure of the former dictator and is still gripping the country. He said that terrorism has destroyed a number of families and also caused a serious blow to economy.
Kaira said that security forces and people of the country have foiled the nefarious designs of the terrorists through innumerable sacrifices and had given a deadly blow to terrorists by a successful operation in Sawat and Malakand. He said that effective operation in South Waziristan is a big achievement of security forces. He said that poverty, ignorance, unemployment and backwardness are the root causes of extremism and there is a need for resolving these issues. He said that it is the collective responsibility of all segments of the society to strive for curbing the menace of terrorism and extremism.
