Ibad for devising national economic agenda

Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan on Sunday called for working out a national economic agenda with the consensus of all political parties in the country. He was talking to a delegation of Pakistan Business Council (PBC), at Governor House here on Sunday.
Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan said that due to present economic situation in the country national economic agenda should be finalised through the dialogues with all stakeholders.
He said the private sector has a significant role in the economic development of the country. The Governor said establishment of the PBC is tremendous step.
He said the government is providing every possible to the business community and it will continue to do it. The President has also assured the business community in this regard, he noted.
Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan assured the PBC regular meetings will be organised to implement the positive suggestions presented by it. Speaking on the occasion, Parliamentary Leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), in the National Assembly, Dr Farooq Sattar said about 90 per cent of the points stressed by the PBC in its briefing are in accordance with vision of MQM Chief Altaf Hussain.
Dr Farooq Sattar, who is also Deputy Convenor MQM Rabita Committee, termed the peace necessary for prosperity in the country.
He maintained that the peace will bring political stability, which, he said will result in economic uplift.
Earlier, head of the PBC delegation, Asad Umer presented a detailed briefing on the economic challenges being confronted by the country. During the briefing he also highlighted the challenges in the fields of education, health and other sectors. He also pointed out the some of the reasons behind the increasing inflation as well as resolutions for the same.
