Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor stresses need for joint efforts to resolve issues of Fata

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor, Masood Kausar on Saturday underlined the need for collective efforts to recognise, and resolve, the basic and outstanding problems and issues concerning Fata and said that the elected representatives, besides elders and notables from Fata, would be taken on board in every effort in this regard.
Talking to Fata parliamentarians in an informal meeting at the Governor House here, he said that restoration and maintenance of peace in Fata is the foremost prerequisite for the socio-economic development of Fata. However, he added that efforts for peace and progress both should go side by side as the situation in most of the areas had improved and is conducive for development.
The Governor said that he believes in direct interaction and contacts with the people and would like to meet the tribesmen to ascertain their grievances, problems and socio-economic needs. He said that negative perceptions about Fata had to be removed, and added that he had already directed the Fata line departments that the development process in Fata must be visible on ground, with judicious and efficient utilisation of development funds.
He said that he was hopeful that peace in Fata would be completely restored to pave the way for smooth and accelerated development process so that the tribal people, who have suffered a lot, had to take a sigh of relief and their problems and difficulties are properly addressed. Fata senators and MNAs, while congratulating the Governor, apprised him of various issues and problems of the tribesmen and expressed hope that these would get due attention of the government.
The delegation included Federal Minister for SAFRON Shaukatullah Khan, MNAs Munir Orakzai, Muhammad Kamran Khan, Akhunzada Chatan, Hamidullah Jan Afridi,Bilal Rahman, Jawad Hussain, Abdul Malik, and Zafar Beg Bhittani and senators Rashid Ahmad Khan, Abdul Raziq, Hafiz Rashid Ahmad, Idrees Khan Safi, Abdul Rashid and Haji Khan Afridi. Additional Chief Secretary Fata Fazal Karim Khattak and Secretary to Governor Sikandar Qayum were also present on this occasion.
