ART FACTS: Subtlety of dynamic Compositions

The basic necessities of life are all related to each other and in turn directly or indirectly affect the daily lives of the people. While going through the exhibition titled "Wave and Particle" at Artchowk Gallery, Karachi, one can understand the concerns of the young artists Naveid Iqbal and Uzma Noor about the same issue.
The works of both the artist based on their personal observations and emotional attachment with lives of common people. The artworks at the show deals with the artist's encounter with the society in general and with the world as a whole.
In his work, Naveid Iqbal tried to cover different aspects of the human nature. His line work portrays that basically all human beings face more or less same situations in life. His artwork has a very unusual composition, it is never over crowded.
He delivers the message through few lines all merge together to form an art piece. His work titled "Conceived and Unconceived", "Grey", "Myself" and "Transition" are good example of his line work. The topics he has selected, explain why there is violence against humanity. His work revolves around human psyche, emotions and feelings.
It seems he enjoy the subtleties of dynamic compositions, synchronising grey and black tones with textures thus simple expressions turn complex with the variety of elements.
Uzma Noor finds Printmaking and AV media as the right medium which convey her feelings and perceptions about the world around. She is a sensitive artist with creative pursuits. Through her Vandyke prints she expresses herself effectively in various ways which gives her artworks a unique charm.
Her work is beautiful yet simple and that's what appeals a viewer. She tries to portray good things that are part of our boring everyday life. We are living a routine life without noticing its positive sides. It seems that she is more attracted towards small objects and put details into them to convey her message.
"When looking at an object like a thread reel, charger, clock, eggs, or domestic objects, we never think about the tiny details they are made up of, and these are things used almost everyday. Because they are not unique and we interact with them on a daily basis, their beauty is forgotten. I take these seemingly boring items and make them have their own story and personality," she said "I believe that art is a way of expression. A way to represent sounds, images, colours, feelings, and shapes in a way that makes sense to the artist.
The one that I enjoy about being an artist is the fact that art can be anything and there are no limitations to what can be created". Uzma uses the medium with a great deal of dexterity. She specialised in a medium of her choice and now she must stick to a subject for a length of time before switching over to another theme and style. She has a good sense of composition and if she concentrate in her work a little more and show consistency for a certain period of time she will soon be among well known artists of our new generation.
Both the artists have set subjects and situations of their own personal experience. As our emotions and mind's consciousness made our personality which reflect in our everyday life just as 'a wave and a particle of light are in separable so do love, happiness, fear and anger identify our individuality'.
