The Corporate Offices of Engro Corporation Limited and Engro Fertilisers Limited, have been certified as Green Office by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). Engro is one of the very few select companies of Pakistan to have secure this certification from an international body.
A WWF certified Green Office is a workplace that reduces its burden on the environment, achieves savings and slows down climate change by reducing carbon dioxide emissions and its ecological footprint. The Green Office certification for Engro Corp and Engro Fertiliser was achieved through the collective efforts of the Engro Green Office Team, led by Wajid Hussain Junejo.
Green Office Initiative was originated by WWF Finland in the year 2002, with the objective of creating a practical programme to enable offices to reduce their carbon footprint and negative environmental impacts. The implementation of this programme will help Engro companies to cut down on energy costs, reduce waste and paper usage. In addition, the company will benefit from a newly motivated and environmentally aware personnel and an improved corporate image besides reduction in overall carbon emissions.
This user-friendly and practical programme is based on the general principles applied in the more detailed ISO 14001 environmental management systems. Engro Corporation Limited and Engro Fertilisers Limited were presented "Green Office Diploma and Certification" by Ali Hasan Habib, Director General - WWF Pakistan in a simple yet graceful ceremony organised at WWF Office in Lahore depicting Engro's renewed commitment to play it's part for a greener planet earth.-PR
