A man on Tuesday stabbed his daughter to death and injured his wife over domestic issue in the limits of Shah Faisal Police station. According to police, the incident happened when Iftikhar Ahmed, an American citizen of Pakistani origin and resident of Hajra Abad of Shah Faisal Colony No 3, became enraged over some domestic issue.
At the outset, Iftikhar initially tried to thrust a knife into his wife, Mushtari Bibi, but luckily she escaped the life attempt. However, he stabbed his newlywed daughter, Zakiya, 25, to death. After committing the crime, this hardhearted father tried to burn the body of his daughter and injured wife through acid but failed in his nasty attempt, due to area people intervention, who gathered there after listening the cry of the victims.
Police further said the area people rushed the victims to Jinnah Postgraduate Hospital where doctors pronounced Zakiya death and admitted Mushtari Bibi in Intensive Care Unit (ICU). They said the accused, who was American citizen, was mentally disturbed as he changed his statement several times. They said the accused during initial course of investigation revealed that he came to Pakistan to tie the knot of his two daughters. They said that the accused told investigators that both his daughters got married some two months back. Moreover, the police said he further informed that he wanted to go back to American but his in-laws got his passport concealed hence he got angry and tried to kill his wife.
