Jamaat-e-Islami chief, Syed Munawar Hasan and Secretary General, Liaquat Baloch have condemned the bomb blast at Punjab Regiment centre, Mardan resulting in over 30 deaths and blamed foreign hand for the tragedy. In a joint condolence message, they said the recovery of important documents and photographs from Raymond Davis made it absolutely clear that Black Water and Indian and Israeli agencies are busy in destabilising this country.
They called for an effective check on such terrorist activities, adding that government should 'cancel visas of hundreds of Americans roaming about in the country and deport them'. They also prayed for salvation of those killed and quick recovery of the injured.
Meanwhile, JI Deputy Secretary General, Dr Farid Ahmed Paracha in a statement termed the fresh wave of terrorism a US pressure-tactic for the release of Raymond Davis. He said that the blood of the Pakistanis is being shed only due to the wrong policies of the rulers and around 25,000 Pakistanis, including troops, 'had lost their lives in the American war'. He called for Davis's trial and thorough investigation for spying, and cancelling visas of all Americans present in the country, saying fresh visas should be issued only after scrutiny and clearance.
