'CNG stations be allowed facility of petrol fuelling'

Vice President Karachi Chamber Of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and Central Chairman, All Pakistan CNG Association, Junaid Esmail Makda has suggested that all CNG station in the country be allowed facility of petrol fuelling.
According to a report of Industry, Investment and Privatisation sub-committee of KCCI and later talking to Business Recorder, he pleaded that allowing petrol fuelling is almost necessary keeping in view that CNG stations are closed for two days owing to gas outage in winter season enabling and providing a level playing field.
He stated that the explosives department of ministry of Industries was handling the matters of retainer-ship of petrol pumps and CNG stations, whereas, the petrol pumps are given license / permission to install CNG fuelling on the other hand it is denied for CNG stations to install petrol fuelling.
Junaid Esmail Makda also criticised the shifting of head office of the explosive department to Islamabad, which is creating hardship for stakeholders as every time they have to visit Islamabad for reverent matters and it is causing immense delays, therefore, the decision may be revised. He also drew attention towards the gazette notification issued on December 10,2010 without taking the stakeholders on board, regarding unwarranted enhancement in the renewal of license fee of CNG sector.
He also pointed out towards burning issue of CNG industry of Pakistan stating that Rs 300 billion investment is been made in CNG sector, where the tax contribution is around Rs 45 billion. He lamented despite of such huge investment in CNG sector, it has not been granted the status of industry whereas, the freight forwarders are given the status of industry.
