Ichra bomb blast: Supreme Court acquits Asgahr Ali

A full bench of the Supreme Court here on Tuesday acquitted Asgahr Ali involved in Ichra bomb blast who was awarded life sentence on two accounts by an anti-terrorism court. Police had arrested Asghar, a resident of Sadiqabad, soon after the incident and charged him of selling the bicycle used for bomb blast.
He was tried in the ATC, which had awarded him life imprisonment on two accounts. LHC had also upheld the decision. The bench headed by MA Shahid Siddqiui acquitting accused held that there was no solid evidence that Asghar had sold the bicycle.
