Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 245,239 tonnes of cargo including 158,091 tonnes of import cargo, 87,148 tonnes of export cargo, 3,911 loaded and empty containers during last 48 hours ended at 0700 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 158,091 tonnes comprised of 68,794 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,900 tonnes of general cargo; 26,927 tonnes of bulk cargo: 18,500 tonnes of coal 8,427 tonnes of general cargo and 60,470 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 87,148 tonnes comprised of 73,781 tonnes of containerised cargo; 13,367 tonnes of bulk cargo: 8,428 tonnes of wheat; 484 tonnes of rice and 4,455 tonnes of gandum. Twelve ships namely CSL Ride, Nadeem, Nam A 08, Iron Butterfly, Full Rich, APL Sokhna, TS Dubai, Greenwich Bridge, Armis, Ital Oceano, Gora and Royal Jasper with containers, cement, general cargo, wheat, containers, rice and oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Fourteen vessels viz Ocean Island, TS Dubai, Cape Manuel, Ital Oceano, Royal Jasper, BW Yangtze, Cupper Trader, Armis, YM America, APL Shenzhen, Birch-1, Abadeh, Sorrelle and Lodestar Genesis carrying coal, containers, oil tankers, wheat, containers, general cargo and oil tankers respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Cape Manuel, Lodestar Genesis and APL Shenzhen carrying containers, chemicals and oil tankers expected to sail on Monday, while three ships namely Al-Mirqab, Abadeh and Ocean Island with containers, crude oil and coal respectively are expected to sail on Tuesday.
Three vessels viz Nord Observer, Kota Anggerik and Ocean Host carrying jet oil, containers and coal respectively due to arrive on Monday, while eleven vessels viz Gulf Tiger, Bow Plata, Blossom, Hyundai General, President Jackson, Williamsburg Bridge, Shayan-I, Emirates Rafiki, Patton-1 and Mega Ace with furnace oil, chemicals, ethanol, containers general cargo and wheat respectively are due to arrive on Tuesday.

PORT QASIM
The Port Qasim handled 132,218 tonnes of cargo includes 111,452 tonnes of import cargo and 20,766 tonnes of export cargo, 2,787 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 48 hours.
The total import cargo of 111,452 tonnes includes 62,200 tonnes of furnace oil; 13,598 tonnes of edible oil; 13,844 tonnes of canola seeds and 21,810 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 20,766 tonnes includes 4,770 tonnes of rice and 15,996 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Three ships namely CV Maersk Carolina, MV Argent Habiscus and MV Sea Hope sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while three more ships namely MV Sea Venus, CV MSC Anafi and MV Jang San are expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of nine vessels viz CV CV Maersk Carolina, CV MSC Anafi, MV Bright Eagle, MV Jang San, MV Alexi-1, MV Island Star, MV Sea Venus, MV Sea Hope and MV Argent Habiscus are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, canola seeds, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Six ships namely STX Rose, My Antarctic, Trans Ocean, Royal Jasper, Angels and Al-Soor-II carrying project cargo, palm oil, wheat, edible oil, containers and diesel oil respectively are currently at the outer anchorage. A total number of four vessels viz CV Angels, MV Royal Jasper, MT Trans Ocean and MT Al-Soor-II scheduled to load/offload containers, edible oil, wheat and diesel oil are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, Grain and Fertiliser Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Monday.
