In a bid to further beef up security arrangements, Close Circuit TVs (CCTVs) will be installed in and around all the district courts in Rawalpindi Division.
Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Zahid Saeed has already directed the District Co-ordination Officers (DCOs) of Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum to conduct survey for installation of CCTVs at all the district courts, official sources said on Sunday.
In consultation with the judiciary and lawyers associations, the security of the judges and the car parking of the courts will also be enhanced. The car parking will be made at a one place in each district court and the parking arrangements will be made in collaboration with police.
The Commissioner while chairing a high level meeting, directed the concerned authorities to shift the courts in the premises of the district courts which have been set up outside of the courts premises. The proper security arrangements will be ensured at residences of district level judges.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner has taken up the matter of Rawalpindi Medical Colleges girl hostel with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
He has asked the concerned authorities to make proper arrangement for shifting of NAB courts, if there is need to shift the present NAB courts.
The Commissioner was informed that a police guard led by a Police Inspector has already been deployed at Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi Bench while the people visiting the court are checked with metal detector and walkthrough gates. The police have made all the necessary security arrangements and car parking has been made at a distance of the court.
